Frank Boyden works in ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, and public art. His art celebrates this rich landscape and reflects upon the ways nature can illuminate the human condition. Boyden’s artistic practices reflect his lifelong interests in the environment. He founded the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in 1970 which fosters creativity and intellectual inquiry while expanding the relationships between art, nature and humanity.

His work in cast bronze sculptures and public art can be found throughout Newport and Portland, Oregon as well as at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Oregon State Hospital, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and William Stafford Memorial. Boyden’s work is found in numerous public and private collections in Washington and Oregon as well as in museum and university collections including the Portland Art Museum, the J. Paul Getty Museum of Art, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Pushkin Museum in Moscow. Boyden was featured on Oregon Art Beat in 2008.
