Miles Pepper is a kinetic sculptor who has always found a sense of joy in movement. Pepper’s sculptures are designed to fly with the wind, making motion an inseparable component of their beauty. Pepper’s sculptures are set in motion by the natural movement of air and reflect his affinity for the "machine aesthetic" and his interest in the use of energy sources in nature. Pepper’s finishing technique, grinding the metal, creates an impression of feathers or scales by reflecting the light in different directions.
Pepper’s work can be found at the Portland Airport, Oregon Zoo and in public art collections throughout Washington and in California and Oregon.
