Werner made the transition to sculpture and public art late in his career. The Centennial Logger and Planter in Bend were his first foray into bronze. Werner feels passionate about public art, as it enriches society and exposes more people to art every day. Jerry Werner was an illustrator for many years, and his clients included Walt Disney, Hallmark Cards and Nike. A native Oregonian, Jerry Werner is a sculptor and painter as well as a graphic designer, making art for over fifty years.
Werner’s commissions for bronze sculptures include the cities of Sisters, Redmond, Wilsonville and Pendleton, Oregon. Werner’s work was featured on Oregon Art Beat in 2006.
